What a day. The mist cleared early and the sun flooded the garden for most of the day. It was a day for gardening in a T-shirt.
I am determined this year that we will have a good supply of green vegetables and broad beans, climbing beans and peas were dutifully planted using the table in the stable area as a potting shed. Every time I turned round I feasted in the narcissus and hellebores in the Spring garden and all the other perennials which are rushing through in the warm weather.
The pink magnolia is still showy and the two white cherries in the roadside verge, which I nearly, removed over the winter looked stunning.
The new bed to the south of the conservatory is working well. No garden should be without anemone blanda. They are fabulous when they open in the sunshine and contrast well with the muscari.
I planted three libertia, the orange stripe in their foliage picking up the orange in a geum which has its first flower out today.
